Catch us at Delve Showcase as we present new work titled “Sparsh”. Co-choreographed by Kinnari Vora and Tuli Bera, they will be exploring physicality within the Bharatanatyam dance form.

In South Indian Classical dance of Bharatanatyam, there is lack of physical touch. Dancers may hold hands, or tap on other dancers’ shoulder very briefly. Various emotions may be conveyed through gestures, body language and facial expressions. Yet, bodily contact is not commonly seen in traditional pieces. Influenced by Contemporary dance and contact improvisation, “Sparsh” explores the sensory aspects of touch in a traditional Bharatanatyam piece.
