Seeking to Be
"seeking to be" is a dance performance based on the art of accepting and celebrating failure. We explore methods of resilience such as being rooted in inner strength, pushing through obstacles and leveraging failure as a birthplace of creativity, change and innovation.
This production was converted into a 10-week workshop curriculum for all ages which allow students to explore resilience through movement and expression as well as expose students to the various Indian dance forms. This curriculum is currently in residence at Walter Payton College Prep. Contact us if you would like Ishti at your school!
This project was partially supported by the Individual Artist Program Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Event, as well as Illinois Arts Council Agency, a state agency through federal funds provided by the National Endowments for the Arts.
